BJD Puck: Million Faces of Puck by FreakStyleBJD BJD Puck: Million Faces of Puck by FreakStyleBJD
He's almost finished and I promised to post a picture of Puck when he's coated so it's easier to see his facial features. All that needs to be done now is sand him, until he's completely smooth and Puck is finished!

Puck is an original BJD, made with Formofit and then coated with Mr.Surfacer.

Thanks for your interest!

Puck has already been casted and he's currently for sale at my shop ([link]), or Triskel Fantasy ([link]).

What an awesome job! That is amazingly realistic!

Where can I purchase FormoFit? I can't seem to find a supplier online. Thanks! :)

Thank you so much :D.

If you can't find a supplier of Formofit, try searching for LaDoll. It's very much like Formofit, but feels a little less dry.

Where can I buy Formo Fit? I have googled it and I can't seem to find it. Is it under a different name? I live in the USA.
Wonderful work!

Thank you :).

I'm not sure if Formo Fit is available in your country, but you could try a search for LaDoll clay, which is basically the same.

Yes, I know of La Doll. I didn't know they were the same thing. I also have paperclay Diamond from Japan. I haven't tried it yet. Thanks so much for responding.

hi ! i don't like diamond clay, i find it's not very suitable for sculpting dolls, as it dries almost instantly. did you try it finally, and how do you find it ?

I just bought some, but haven't tried it yet! Good to know though it might not be suitable.

Don't mention it :). LaDoll and formofit aren't exactly the same thing (formofit is a little cheaper), but it has the same atributes. Never heard of Diamond before, though. I'm interested in trying it.

what kind of material is Mr. surfacer? will it make it smooth? And i agree the smile is nice! ;D

Mr. Surfacer is a primer. Because I use airdrying clay I need to prime the doll before it's casted, or otherwise the water will damage is. But, yes, if you sand it, the surface becomes smooth.

Thanks!

I love that he's smiling, you don't see that very often with BJD's (or at least I haven't seen many.)

Thank you so much!

You're right, most BJD's have a neutral expression and how the head's painted gives it an emotion. And although I try, my dolls somehow always end up with a clear emotion on their face. ;) Don't think it matters too much, though. A smilling doll is still able to have many different expressions (cheerful, devious, innocent etc).

Absolutely. I think the only ones that I don't really go for are the ones that frown. It kind of limits the range of emotion they can display. But a smile can mean just about anything from psychotic to sublime, all depending on how somebody does the posing. :)
