BJD - Scylla - An Alien Head by FreakStyleBJD
BJD - Scylla - An Alien Head
And here a picture of Scylla's head. To make her faceplate, I will probably have to cast this sculpt first and then cut it apart, because the sculpt is too brittle as is. (mostly due to the detail).

Wish me luck!

BJD - Scylla - and the tail of DOOM by FreakStyleBJD
BJD - Scylla - and the tail of DOOM
So *cough* yeah, this is what happens when your design takes over and has their own idea. At least you can't deny that Scylla has a tail! I've taken measurements: Even though she is a tiny (considering her torso and head-size), the full length of this doll is 57cm. Fifty-seven! That's just as tall as my big boys!

It's probably going to take a long while before it's ready, because I want the tail to be very poseable and the pieces to fit snugly together.

BJD - Scylla - the making of a snake-like alien by FreakStyleBJD
BJD - Scylla - the making of a snake-like alien
I've always wanted to make creatures. Aliens, monsters, the kind you see in science fiction shows (now you know what a nerd I am ;)).

This is the first I'm going to work on. His/her name is Scylla and they are going to have a snake-tail, claws and a body that is just as detailed as the head.

The clay I'm using is Premo Sculpey.

BJD - Puck: Look At That Dress! by FreakStyleBJD
BJD - Puck: Look At That Dress!
Like I said in a previous picture of him, Puck might be a guy, but he could easily fool you. I love the tattered look of his skirt and the nice details of his corset!

BJD - Puck: Picture in the Woods by FreakStyleBJD
BJD - Puck: Picture in the Woods
I've got a forest near home and I realized that I've never been there to take pictures of my doll. How could I forget!! So, recently, when it was a beautiful day, I took out my Puck fullset to make some new stock pictures of him. And really love how they turned out.

Yes, Puck is a dude, but dressed up in a long dress designed and made by Raouken, he can seriously rock the feminine look as well!

Hi,

I’m Frederieke Westerveld, and I’m a dollmaker from the Netherlands. All of my dolls are first sculpted in clay – I mainly use LaDoll and Super Sculpey Firm – and then cast in high quality resin.

Since I’ve never had any sculpting lessons, I taught myself by reading tutorials, doing tons of research on anatomy and watchting Philippe Faraut videos on Youtube. And, of course, I practice a lot.

All of my dolls are for sale. So, take a look here on my DA page, or my website www. freakstylebjd.com.

Cheers!

I want to say thank you :). Normally, I write you a note, but because I've been neglecting this page for the past few months (the usual excuse: busy), DeviantArt seems to think that I'm a spambot when I'm doing this.

*cough*

So.. well... yeah. Thank you!

Well, making tutorials is a lot of work and I don't really have much time to work on my sculpts, so for now I'd have to say "No". There are quite a few tutorials out there though :).

I heard bad things about Freak Style and looked you up. I think they are all wrong. Your style is amazing. I really love Salomé's body, the curves and the hips are wonderful. If I had the money I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Did you mean those confessions on Tumblr? I had no idea what that was about. Of course everyone has different tastes and my dolls are not everyone's cup of tea, but they made it sound like I created something hideous.

Glad you like her :).
